Proposing permaculture solutions to solve world pollution problems
Hopeful programs are emerging to propose the introduction of permaculture solutions and turn the world’s pollution and other problems around.
What is “Greening the Desert™”?
The PundaZoie Company, creator of Greening the Desert™, is one company who is part of a growing awareness of and commitment to sustaining the environment by imitating nature. They use sequestration and dry-land habitat improvement, locking-in carbon and using hardy, drought-resistant and salinity tolerant trees and shrubs.
Trees absorb carbon, so PundaZoie calculates the likely carbon uptake per hectare for every project using select species. They choose trees by suitability criteria for soil type, climatic condition, rainfall, growth rates and other factors.
