For Performing Puja in your Home
Here are my recommendations for at-home puja accessories. (DISCLOSURE: If you make a purchase after you click the following links, in most cases I will receive a small affiliate compensation, for which I am most grateful. Your kind support allows me continue serving through this website.)
Lakshmi Murtis:
‘Murti comes from the Sanskrit word for Spirit, ‘murta’. A murti is the image of a divine spirit.
I have a Lakshmi murti in a place of honor in my home for daily puja to the Divine Mother. It also serves as a constant reminder that I am living out of abundance, that I have plenty to share and to spare. Lakshmi’s image reminds me that I am one with the Goddess who is generous. Being generous is just one demonstration of the many riches she brings.
Shri Lakshmi is the Goddess of worldly and spiritual prosperity. If you are looking for something beautiful for your altar, consider this 16″ high white marble sculpture (to the left). She is seated in the classic lotus blossom meditation pose. Click here for more information about ordering this 16″ Lakshmi murti.
Lakshmi Murtis in Smaller Sizes:
If size is a consideration in creating your sacred space, the Kamalasan Lakshmi murtis (Lakshmi seated in a lotus meditation pose) come in smaller sizes. For ordering information:

I recommend colorful painted marble murtis to help you visualize their divine patterns as a living reminder of the balance and completion that you have within, and that you can manifest in form. I realize your preference is personal, so note that when you click on the photos or links, you can also find murtis (statues) that come in other materials.
Lakshmi Vishnu Murtis:
Devi Lakshmi arose from the Ocean of Milk during Samudra Manthan, or the great time of the churning of the ocean. She desired a suitable husband and eternal companion, and chose Shri Vishnu of all the gods. Lakshmi garlanded Vishnu only after carefully considering his qualities.
By making his bosom her eternal abode, she cleverly ensured that He would embrace no other but She. From their home in Vaikuntha, she bestows grace on all the other gods, and on her own devotees as well as those of Shri Vishnu.
These beautiful representations of Divinity (7″ high) in form stand in honor of the Divine Feminine and Masculine within and around you. On the left is Shri Vishnu with his Divine Consort, Shri Lakshmi, beside him. Click here to order Vishnu and Laksshmi.
Ganesha Murti:
Ganesha is the remover of obstacles, and the bestower of protection, realization of self, prosperity and love. He is also considered the deity of the planet Jupiter, which represents fortune. Many devotees have Shri Ganesha on the right side and Shri Lakshmi on the left on their altars.
I always start my Lakshmi Puja with prayer to Shri Ganesha. I also perform puja to Ganesha at the start of projects, or before journeys, moving, or important meetings, Anytime something new is beginning, or there is something I would like to have renewed, I invoke the blessings of Shri Ganesha.
This beautiful white marble murti is 14.5″ tall. Click here for information about ordering Kamalasana Ganesha (seated in the lotus pose).
Puja Thali:
A puja thali is a dedicated plate on which you arrange your puja offerings.
These can be flowers, incense, diya (wick lamp or ghee candle), panchamrita (ritual food), kumum (colored turmeric or saffron), and other items offered in puja to the diety or person you are honoring.
Click here for more information on ordering this beautiful brass thali (pictured at left). It is 10″ diameter and complete with matching ritual lota (water vessel), spoon, wick lamp, and incense holder.
This Sterling Silber puja thali (at left) has a matching ritual lota and prasadam box. Prasadam is a generous state of mind or a sacred gift.
Your offering can be a piece of fruit, vegetable, a flower or betel leaf, or some panchamrita (ritual food usually made of honey, sugar, milk, yogurt, and ghee). I fill mine with the names and intentions of those I am honoring in my puja, asking Lakshmi to consume and transform any doubts into beautiful outcomes.
