Thank you simply for being you

Thanksgiving. The very word brings to mind a medley of familiar scents and flavors, the good company of family and friends and more.
Or it can bring up sadness, especially if you are spending your day alone or wishing you were. The holidays can bring up such a mixture of feelings.
Still, turkey and pumpkin pie aside, it’s the best holiday. If I were allowed only one, Thanksgiving would be my choice. To choose to be thankful is one of the best parts of life. To appreciate what is. To savor even the not so happy stuff when it appears.
Because we are really thankful for at Thanksgiving or any day is life, and it’s opportunity. There’s always something or someone to appreciate even if we have to search far or dig deep to find our appreciation.
I am thankful for the kindness others have shown. Without it, what a dry world this would be. Wilbur D. Nesbit said, “Forever on Thanksgiving day; the heart will find the pathway home.”
May your pathway lead you to your true home, the heart.
