Music heals – sound heals; this has been well documented. Recent studies have been done in Post Operative Care Units during patent’s early postoperative care. Fascinating footage exists on the the beautiful patterns some sound makes on sand and on water.

Healers have long used song or bells, or even Tibetan singing bowls. I often turn to exotic sound and chant to enter deep healing meditation, or to classical music especially in preparation for healing sessions.

First of all, there’s Rhema herself. She’s seven years old and her music has the potential to touch the soul deeply. Sometimes angels in embodiment have come simply to remind us how to let go, and let their sound heal us.

Sound heals when used scientifically in mantra or prayer. Much writing and research has been done on the power of prayer, even in it’s silent vibratory power.

Sound heals also when applied specifically though music, song or bells, or even  Tibetan singing bowls.

When used during healing sessions, these sound modalities can have a profound impact in bringing relief or other resolution to a spiritual or other concern. Harp music, for example, has long been known for its healing properties.

Research supports evidence of how sound heals.

You may have seen the power of crystal water that captures evidence of how sound heals in photos by Masaru Emoto. I recommend his recent book, The True Power of Water, for a look at how we effect water. The film, What the Bleep, mentioned Emoto’s work and helped popularize it (I’ve posted that excerpt after some rare film clips on sound healing, below).

Emoto provides evidence from his research on the unique properties of water and its ability to improve your health and your life. His film, The Hidden Messages in Water, is due out next month on DVD. You can pre-order it.

Cymatics: science that shows how sound heals and creates

But water is not the only structure effected by vibration, and Emoto’s work was preceded by the research that formed the basis of a new science last century, cymatics, which was founded by physician and natural scientist, Dr. Hans Jenny. His original research opened the way for the world to accept the validity of sound healing, and inspired other scientists to experiment with how vibration changes form at atomic or sub-atomic levels of creation.

Jenny is considered the father of cymatics, which is the study of wave phenomena. His book, Cymatics, will help anyone interested in finding the deeper connection between physical and non-physical or spiritual forms. If you are serious in your study on how sound heals, I recommend that you also get Water Sound Images by Alexander Lauterwasser.
